Château de Guirbaden

Château de Guirbaden is the expansive ruin of a Staufen-era hilltop castle near Mollkirch in Alsace, roughly 40 kilometres west of Strasbourg. Built around 1200, it ranks among the more substantial high-medieval strongholds of the region and is today classified as a French historic monument. Its surviving walls rise from a forested Vosges ridge accessible via hiking trails through the Andlau valley, rewarding the climb with open views across the Alsatian foothills toward the Rhine plain.
