Avaz Twist Tower

The Avaz Twist Tower in Sarajevo's Marijin Dvor business district stands approximately 176 metres tall, making it the tallest building in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the second-tallest in Southeast Europe outside Istanbul. Designed by architect Faruk Kapidžić and completed in 2009, the tower serves as the headquarters of the Bosnian media group Avaz. Its defining feature is a facade that rotates roughly 22 degrees along its height, giving the building both its name and its instantly recognisable silhouette on the Sarajevo skyline. A public observation deck near the top offers sweeping views over the city's bowl-shaped valley and the surrounding Dinaric mountain ridges, particularly atmospheric at dusk.
