Zámek Kounice
Prague
The Old Castle in Żywiec is a Renaissance residence dating to around 1500, situated on the right bank of the Soła river within the historic town centre of Żywiec in Polish Silesia. The castle served as the seat of local noble lords and eventually came under Habsburg control, reflecting the region's long history as part of Austrian Silesia. Protected as a registered immovable monument of Poland, the structure survives alongside its adjoining park as a cohesive historic complex. The riverside park grounds offer a quiet backdrop for leisurely visits, making the ensemble one of the more distinctive Renaissance survivals in the sub-Carpathian foothills.
