Antiochos Sarayı'nın Kalıntıları

The ruins of the Palace of Antiochus sit in Istanbul's Sultanahmet district, representing one of the few surviving traces of late-antique aristocratic architecture in the former imperial capital of Constantinople. The palace was built in the 5th century, likely for Antiochus, a powerful eunuch and chamberlain at the East Roman court, placing it at the heart of Byzantine political life. The structure was subsequently converted into the Church of St. Euphemia before falling into obscurity over subsequent centuries. Today only foundation walls and fragmentary masonry remain, designated as an archaeological site by Istanbul's heritage authorities. It rewards visitors drawn to the layered history beneath the modern city rather than those seeking a polished landmark.
