Arizona State Route 67, officially the Kaibab Plateau–North Rim Parkway, is a roughly 44-kilometer spur road cutting south from Jacob Lake on U.S. Highway 89A to the Grand Canyon's North Rim. The route crosses the densely forested Kaibab Plateau at around 2,500 meters elevation, making it the sole paved access road to the canyon's quieter northern edge. Because the North Rim sits far from major population centers, traffic remains light even at peak season. The road is open only from mid-May to mid-October, closing when heavy snowfall makes the plateau impassable — lending the drive a fleeting, now-or-never quality that the more accessible South Rim lacks.
