Bärgfall

Bärgfall is a small alpine waterfall tucked along the northern shore of Oeschinensee near Kandersteg, Switzerland, cascading directly into the turquoise glacial lake. Reaching it requires leaving the main circular trail and edging along a narrow rocky ledge with a steel cable bolted into the rock face for support — a short but thrilling passage. Oeschinensee sits at 1,578 metres and is ringed by peaks exceeding 3,000 metres, giving even a modest waterfall a striking mountain backdrop. From the lake entrance, bear left along the path past the beach area to find the unmarked fork at the water's edge. Most visitors stumble upon it by chance, which preserves its character as a genuine hidden gem even on busy summer days.
