5 Fingers

5 Fingers is a cantilevered steel viewing platform on the Krippenstein summit (2,108 m) at the northern edge of the Dachstein massif in Upper Austria. The structure takes its name from five finger-like arms that jut out over a sheer rock face, giving visitors the sensation of floating above an alpine void. On clear days the panorama stretches across the Salzkammergut lake district to the Berchtesgaden Alps. The platform is free to access once you reach the upper station via the Dachstein-Krippenstein cable car.
