Bagni di Craveggia

Bagni di Craveggia are the ruins of a former thermal spa straddling the border between the Swiss canton of Ticino and the Italian province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola. The natural spring emerges at around 27 °C with a flow of roughly 10 litres per minute — modest by spa standards, but enough to fill a small natural pool in a beautifully weathered stone ruin surrounded by mountain forest. The facility once operated as a proper bathing establishment before falling into disuse and decay. Accessible only on foot via a hiking trail from the hamlet of Spruga, roughly two kilometres away, the site is free to enter and rarely crowded. It rewards the walk with a genuinely off-grid soaking spot and the atmosphere of a quietly forgotten place.
