Gevelsberg West station
Gevelsberg West station sits on the western edge of Gevelsberg in the Bergisches Land region and is a protected Kulturdenkmal. Its station building follows the Bergisches Haus style — a vernacular form typical of the area, characterized by dark slate cladding and white timber detailing. Once a significant junction station with lines branching toward Wuppertal-Wichlinghausen and Witten-Höhe, it lost much of its importance after passenger services on those routes were discontinued. Since 1988 it has been served exclusively by the S-Bahn Rhein-Ruhr.
