Gießen station

Gießen station is a listed Kulturdenkmal in Hesse and a rare example of a Keilbahnhof — a wedge-shaped layout in which the main building is flanked by diverging rail lines on both sides. The station building was constructed in the Romanesque Revival style, characteristic of the ambitious railway architecture of the Gründerzeit era. With around 375 trains and 28,000 passengers daily, it remains the principal interchange hub of central Hesse, linking routes toward Frankfurt, Marburg, and Fulda.
