Altenburg station is a Gründerzeit-era railway building in the Thuringian town of Altenburg, situated on the Leipzig–Hof line. Originally opened in 1842 as a terminus, it was rebuilt in the 1870s into a through station with the construction of the Altenburg Tunnel. The branch line to Zeitz, which begins here, has been freight-only since 2002. The station is operated by DB InfraGO and is wheelchair accessible.
