Kaunas train station

Kaunas train station is the main rail hub of Lithuania's second-largest city. During the interwar years, when Kaunas served as the provisional capital of independent Lithuania, the station also housed the headquarters of the national railway company Lietuvos geležinkeliai — making it a practical and symbolic cornerstone of the young state's infrastructure. Today it remains the primary rail junction for connections to Vilnius, Klaipėda, and international routes.
