Kostrzyn railway station

Kostrzyn railway station sits at the junction of two historically significant lines: the Wrocław–Szczecin corridor and the old Ostbahn, which once linked Berlin to Königsberg. Its Turmbahnhof design — where one line crosses the other on a viaduct — gives it a structurally distinctive form uncommon among smaller stations. Since 1945 it has served as a border crossing point between Poland and Germany, a direct consequence of the postwar redrawing of borders that split the former German city of Küstrin in two. Today it is the sole remaining passenger station in Kostrzyn nad Odrą and a functional, historically layered stop on the Berlin–Szczecin route.
