Railway History
Mishima Station sits in Shizuoka Prefecture on Honshū and has been in operation since 1934. It is jointly run by JR Central and the Izuhakone Tetsudō railway, and is notable as a regional station served by Shinkansen bullet trains on the Tokio–Osaka corridor. For most visitors it functions primarily as a transfer point toward the Izu Peninsula.
