Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station

Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto is a railway station on Hokkaido operated by JR Hokkaido on the Hakodate Main Line. Since March 2016 it has served as the provisional northern terminus of the Hokkaido Shinkansen, a temporary arrangement while the tunnel extension toward Sapporo remains under construction. Located in Hokuto city roughly 18 km from central Hakodate, it functions primarily as a transfer point between Shinkansen services and local trains heading into Hakodate.
