Takaoka Station

Takaoka Station is a regional rail junction in the city of Takaoka, operated jointly by West Japan Railway and Ainokaze Toyama Tetsudō. Opened in 1898 during the Meiji era, it sits at the intersection of the Ainokaze Toyama Line with the Jōhana and Himi lines. Since the Hokuriku Shinkansen began service in 2015, long-distance trains have bypassed the station in favor of Shin-Takaoka, located about 1.6 km to the south, leaving this older terminus primarily as a local commuter hub.
