Takayama Station

Takayama Station is the main railway hub of the mountain city of Takayama in Gifu Prefecture, operated by JR Central. Opened in 1934 during the Shōwa era, it serves as the terminus of the Takayama Main Line, which winds through the Hida mountain range toward Nagoya. The station building is a modest example of 1930s Japanese regional railway architecture and functions primarily as a gateway for visitors heading to Takayama's well-preserved historic old town.
