Baotu Spring Park

Baotu Spring Park surrounds one of China's most celebrated karst springs, where three natural vents push water dramatically upward from the earth and feed a network of ponds and channels that thread through Jinan's historic center. The spring has been praised in verse since at least the Song Dynasty (960–1279); the poet Li Qingzhao, one of classical Chinese literature's most admired voices, grew up nearby and drew on its imagery throughout her work. The landscaped grounds follow traditional Chinese garden design — pavilions, stone bridges, and willow-draped pools arranged around the central spring basins. The park charges an entry fee and rewards slow exploration: the signature image of three parallel columns of rising water has served as Jinan's civic symbol for centuries.
