Jardim do Campo Grande

A long, linear park in northern Lisbon — shaded walks, ornamental ponds, and a lively local crowd, right at the Campo Grande metro stop.

The Jardim do Campo Grande, officially renamed Jardim Mário Soares, is one of Lisbon's most distinctive linear parks — stretching over 1.3 kilometres between the two carriageways of Avenida do Campo Grande in the Alvalade district. Up to 15 hectares in size, it offers shade under mature trees, ornamental ponds, fountains, and walking paths. Families, students from the nearby University of Lisbon, and everyday Lisbonites all share the green space. The Campo Grande metro station at the park's southern end makes it easily accessible and a natural gathering point in the northern city.
