Barry Mill

Barry Mill is a historic water-powered grain mill near the village of Barry in Angus, Scotland, maintained in working order by the National Trust for Scotland. Mills of this type were the backbone of lowland Scottish grain processing for centuries, and Barry Mill survives as one of the few still capable of actual milling. First listed for protection in 1971, it was upgraded in 2009 to Category A — Scotland's highest heritage designation, reserved for buildings of special architectural or historic interest. Visitors can watch the original millstone machinery driven by the lade, set within a quiet rural landscape well off the main tourist trail around Dundee.
