Basilica of St. Adalbert

The Basilica of St. Adalbert is a Roman Catholic parish church built in 1913 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in the neuromanesque style and dedicated to Adalbert of Prague, the 10th-century bishop and martyr. Holding the papal title of minor basilica, it was founded as the spiritual home of Grand Rapids' Polish immigrant community — part of the broader wave of ethnic Catholic parishes that shaped Midwestern American cities in the early 20th century. Its rounded arches, heavy masonry, and prominent tower remain a visible marker of that immigrant heritage in the city today.
