Beppu Tower

Beppu Tower is a steel lattice broadcast-and-observation tower built in 1957 in the center of Beppu, a hot-spring resort city in Ōita Prefecture. Like several Japanese urban towers of its postwar generation, it drew loose inspiration from the Eiffel Tower in both form and civic ambition. The observation deck offers views across Beppu's rooftops to the steam rising from the city's famous hot springs and the bay beyond.
