Weißenstein
HighlandTranquilityDay Trip+3
Bergkopf is an 857-metre summit in the Sparnecker Forst, a forested section of the Fichtelgebirge uplands close to Bad Weißenstadt in Upper Franconia. The mountain is heavily wooded with a mix of spruce, beech and pine typical of this Central German highland region. It works well as a waypoint on longer circular hikes through the surrounding forest, often combined with the Weißenstädter See in the valley below. The summit itself is undeveloped, with forest rather than open views as the main reward.
