Montreal Biodome

Montreal's Biodome occupies the former Olympic velodrome built for the 1976 Games, repurposed in 1992 into one of the world's most distinctive living-ecosystems attractions. Under its sweeping curved roof, four complete American ecosystems unfold side by side: tropical rainforest, Laurentian maple forest, St. Lawrence marine archipelago, and Sub-Antarctic islands. More than 4,500 animals and 750 plant species inhabit the recreated habitats year-round, making it a fully indoor nature experience regardless of Montreal's notoriously harsh winters. The Biodome is part of the Espace pour la vie campus alongside the Botanical Garden and Insectarium, allowing a full day of natural science exploration. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 9 am to 5 pm, with full wheelchair access and on-site Wi-Fi.
