Biserica Ortodoxă Sârbă

The Church of St. George stands on Piața Traian in Timișoara's Fabric district, serving the local Serbian Orthodox community as one of three Serbian Orthodox churches in the city. Built during the Habsburg era in baroque style, it reflects the period when Fabric was a distinct settlement outside the city walls with a substantial Serbian population. As a protected historical monument, the church is a tangible reminder of the Banat region's centuries-long multicultural layering of Serbian, Romanian, Hungarian, and German communities. Its interior follows Orthodox tradition, centred on an icon-rich iconostasis. The church remains in active liturgical use today.
