Mariä Himmelfahrt
CatholicParish ChurchMarian Church+2
The Roman Catholic parish church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands on Bulevardul Regele Carol I in Timișoara's Iosefin district and is listed as a Romanian historical monument. Its baroque form reflects the architectural legacy of the Habsburg period, when Timișoara was one of the empire's principal western Romanian cities. Dedicated to the feast of the Nativity of Mary, the church remains an active parish serving the surrounding neighbourhood. Iosefin itself — named after Emperor Joseph II — retains a distinctly Central European character, and the church is one of its quieter but enduring landmarks.
