Blue Streak

Blue Streak is a wooden roller coaster at Cedar Point amusement park on the Lake Erie shore in Sandusky, Ohio. It opened on May 23, 1964, built by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters (car no. 131) to designs by Frank D. Hoover and John C. Allen, making it one of the oldest continuously operating coasters in the park. At roughly 580 meters of track and a top speed around 80 km/h, it ranks today as an approachable, family-friendly ride — a deliberate contrast to Cedar Point's modern steel giants. For coaster historians, it remains a textbook example of early-1960s American wooden coaster engineering, and enthusiasts treat a lap on Blue Streak as a rite of passage.
