Botanischer Garten Gera

Gera's botanical garden is a compact 0.7-hectare teaching and display garden established in 1897 and today protected as a listed cultural monument. Administered by the city's Museum of Natural History, it focuses on the native flora of eastern Thuringia, from regional wildflowers to characteristic forest plants of the Thüringer Wald. Small in scale but purposeful in scope, it functions primarily as an educational resource for school groups and botany enthusiasts rather than a grand ornamental park. It is open May through September, 10:00 to 16:30.
