Bowood House

Bowood House is a Grade I listed baroque country estate in Wiltshire, set between the market towns of Calne and Chippenham. The house was expanded by the Marquesses of Lansdowne and remains in the family to this day. The surrounding parkland was laid out by the celebrated landscape designer Capability Brown during the reign of George II, featuring sweeping paths, sculpted hills, and an ornamental lake in the naturalistic English style. Visitors can explore the extensive grounds on foot and take in the formal architecture of an English aristocratic seat. The Grade I listing places it among England's most protected historic structures.
