Appuldurcombe House is a roofless English Baroque country house ruin near Wroxall on the Isle of Wight, listed at Grade I — England's highest tier of architectural protection. Built in the early 18th century for the Worsley family, it was once the grandest mansion on the island; today only the shell of its baroque facade survives intact. The surrounding garden, once landscaped in the manner of Capability Brown, has grown into a quietly overgrown parkland ideal for a leisurely walk. The combination of ornate stonework and atmospheric decay gives the site a melancholy character quite distinct from the island's coastal tourist trail.
