Fischer Brewery

The Brasserie Fischer — also called Brasserie du Pêcheur — was one of the most prominent Alsatian breweries, headquartered in Schiltigheim, a small town just north of Strasbourg nicknamed the "beer capital of Alsace" for its concentration of breweries. Founded in 1821, it is among the oldest industrial breweries in the region, and its 19th-century brick industrial buildings are now listed as a protected historic monument. For generations Fischer shaped the region's beer culture, producing its eponymous lager distributed across France before brewing operations eventually ceased. The surviving industrial architecture offers a tangible record of Alsace's brewing heritage at its 19th-century peak.
