Bridge L-158

Bridge L-158 is a disused railroad bridge built in 1883, spanning the Muscoot Reservoir near Goldens Bridge in Westchester County, New York. It once carried trains on the New York Central Railroad's branch line connecting Goldens Bridge to Lake Mahopac, a route that has long since ceased operation. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the steel structure stands as a quiet remnant of the late 19th-century rail expansion that opened up the Hudson Valley's interior. Today the bridge sits abandoned above the water, slowly being reclaimed by the surrounding landscape.
