Early 18th-century church in Venice's Cannaregio, dedicated to martyr Saint Fusca, overlooking the Paolo Sarpi monument.

The Chiesa di Santa Fosca stands in Venice's Cannaregio sestiere adjacent to the Strada Nova, facing the campo that shares its name. The church is dedicated to Saint Fusca, a Berber virgin and martyr who lived during the Roman proconsulship of Tiberius Claudius Quintianus. Across the campo stands the monument to the Venetian theologian and statesman Paolo Sarpi, on the spot where, according to tradition, he was stabbed by papal assassins. The current church building dates from the early 18th century. Santa Fosca sits directly on the Strada Nova — the busiest pedestrian route between the station and the Rialto — embedded in the daily life of Cannaregio.
