Children's Railway Minsk

A narrow gauge railway from 1955, built through Minsk's Chelyuskinites Park as a Soviet youth training line. Still operational today and listed as Belarusian cultural heritage.

The K. S. Zaslonov Children's Railroad in Minsk is a 750 mm narrow gauge loop running 3.79 kilometers through Chelyuskinites Park, built in 1955 as a Pioneer Railway during the Soviet era. Named after Belarusian resistance fighter Kirill Zaslonov, the railway was genuinely operated by children: students aged 10 to 15 trained as engineers, conductors, and station staff — part of a Soviet program introducing youth to railway professions. The track and rolling stock are now listed as Belarusian cultural heritage. Today the railway still operates regularly, circling through the park and drawing families for leisurely rides amid greenery.
