Agricultural University of Iceland
Research Institution
Also known as: DSE
The Delhi School of Economics is a research and teaching department of the University of Delhi, founded in 1949 with the support of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. It focuses on economics, sociology and geography and has produced some of India's most influential economists, including Amartya Sen, Manmohan Singh and Jagdish Bhagwati. The campus in the northern university district is of marginal interest to most visitors but is something of a pilgrimage site for students and academics of South Asian economic thought.
