Belgian School Athens

Belgian archaeological research institute in Athens, founded in 1985

The Belgian School at Athens is one of around 17 to 19 foreign archaeological institutes headquartered in the Greek capital. Founded in 1985, it is dedicated to the study of Greek antiquity and archaeology. The institute coordinates Belgian excavation projects in Greece and promotes academic exchange. As part of the international research community in Athens, it represents Belgium's tradition in classical studies.
