Eşşeyh Haşimi Emir Osman Efendi Hz. Türbesi

This small Ottoman türbe in Istanbul's Kasımpaşa district is the burial site of Şeyh Haşimi Emir Osman Efendi (1513–1595), a prominent sheikh of the Bayrami Sufi order. Born in Sivas in 1513, he came to Istanbul as a young scholar and eventually led a dervish lodge in the garden of the adjacent Haşemi Emir Osman Mosque, built in 1547. He carried the honorific title 'Seyyid' as a direct descendant of Ali ibn Abi Talib, the fourth Caliph of Islam, lending his tomb particular spiritual weight in both Sunni and Alevi traditions. The interior houses 16 wooden coffins belonging to the founder and his successors — an unusually complete dynastic ensemble. The tomb is not always attended; mosque staff next door are reportedly happy to unlock it for visitors.
