Lukoil Arena

Also known as: Spartak Arena, Spartak Stadium, Otkrytie Arena · +4

The Lukoil Arena, also known as Otkrytie Arena and the Spartak Stadium, is a football ground opened in 2014 in the Tushino district of Moscow. With around 45,000 seats it is the first dedicated home of Spartak Moscow, who had spent decades renting other venues. The diamond-patterned aluminium facade carries the club colours red and white, and a bronze statue of the gladiator club mascot stands outside. The arena was one of eleven host venues at the 2018 World Cup. Match days here are their own show: drums in the south stand, borscht at the stalls, and a metro station right at the gates. Off season, guided tours run through the locker rooms and players tunnel.
