Monasterio del Carmen de la Santísima Trinidad

The Monasterio del Carmen de la Santísima Trinidad is a Roman Catholic Carmelite convent located in Quito's historic colonial center, a UNESCO World Heritage district. Founded during the colonial era, it reflects the baroque architectural tradition that defines Quito's remarkable concentration of religious buildings. As an enclosed cloistered community, most of the monastery remains closed to the public, lending it an air of quiet seclusion amid the busy old town. The street-facing facade and any publicly accessible areas offer a glimpse into Ecuador's rich colonial monastic heritage.
