Mühlenbrücke
The Mühlenbrücke in Hann. Münden is a 76.5-metre pedestrian bridge spanning a side arm of the Fulda river and the Eselwerder island, linking the medieval Altstadt to the Tanzwerder. Completed in 1979, its concrete beam structure is topped by a wooden superstructure with a tiled saddle roof, designed to echo the half-timbered townscape of the surrounding old town. The bridge does not run in a straight line — several gentle kinks in its layout further reinforce the impression of a medieval covered walkway. It offers a quiet riverside crossing with unobstructed views of the Fulda and the green Tanzwerder parkland.
