Taesongsan

Taesongsan is a forested hill rising to around 270 meters in the Taesong-guyok district on the northeastern edge of Pyongyang. Its surroundings include the Korea Central Zoo — one of the capital's main leisure facilities — and an ice rink that serves as a family outing destination for city residents. Adjacent to the hill lies the Cemetery of Fallen Revolutionary Fighters, a burial ground for prominent figures in North Korean state history that lends the area a heavily ideological character. Foreign visitors who reach Pyongyang through state-supervised programs occasionally have the hill included in their itinerary, though the experience remains tightly controlled and largely shaped by official narrative.
