400 East Randolph

400 East Randolph — also known as Outer Drive East — is a 40-story residential condominium tower completed in 1963 in Chicago's New Eastside neighborhood, designed by Reinheimer & Associates. Situated between The Buckingham to the west and Harbor Point to the east, it is a characteristic example of American postwar modernism, featuring a clean curtain-wall facade and reinforced concrete construction. Its position on the lakefront edge of Grant Park means upper-floor residents enjoy unobstructed views across Lake Michigan and back toward the Chicago skyline. As a private residential building it is not open to the public.
