Augsburger Straße

Augsburger Straße station on U-Bahn line U3 opened on 8 May 1961 beneath the intersection of Nürnberger Straße and Augsburger Straße in Charlottenburg. Its understated postwar modernist design earned it protected architectural monument status, making it one of a relatively small number of Berlin U-Bahn stations to receive that designation. Step-free access came only recently: two lifts at the southern end of the platform entered service in December 2022 and September 2023, completing full barrier-free accessibility more than six decades after the station first opened.
