Aiguille des Grands Charmoz

The Aiguille des Grands Charmoz is a 3,445-metre granite spire rising directly above Chamonix, one of the most distinctive needles in the Aiguilles de Chamonix chain of the Mont Blanc massif. The standard route involves sustained rock climbing at grades 4 and 5, with a glacier approach via the Mer de Glace, making it a serious alpine objective rather than a hiking destination. From the exposed summit ridge, climbers gain a sweeping panorama across the Mont Blanc massif and the Vallée Blanche below.
