Abajo Peak

Abajo Peak, at 11,360 feet (3,465 m), is the highest summit in the Abajo Mountains of southeastern Utah, sitting inside the Manti-La Sal National Forest roughly 11 km southwest of Monticello. Its geographic position is notable: on a clear day, the Four Corners monument — the only point in the U.S. where four state boundaries meet simultaneously — is visible from the summit. Several communications towers mark the top, and a network of forest roads and trails through ponderosa pine and spruce draws hikers and mountain bikers looking for elevation far off the main Colorado Plateau tourist circuit.
