Antiochia ad Cragum

Antiochia ad Cragum is the ruin of an ancient city in Rough Cilicia, perched on a rocky coastal promontory near the modern village of Güneyköy on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, roughly 20 km southeast of Gazipaşa. The city flourished in the Hellenistic and Roman imperial periods, leaving behind the remains of a columned temple, a substantial arch gate, and mosaic floors that hint at the civic grandeur of its peak years. Its position on a clifftop ridge above the sea affords expansive views along the Cilician coastline. Because the site remains largely unexcavated and off the main tourist circuit, visitors can wander among the scattered stonework in near solitude — a rare quality for a site of this antiquity.
