Ad Halom Bridge

Ad Halom is a locality at the eastern edge of Ashdod, Israel, centered on a crossing of the Nahal Lachish river. The oldest of three bridges here was built along the Via Maris, the ancient coastal highway that connected Egypt to Mesopotamia and served as one of the Levant's principal arteries for trade and military movement across millennia. The area today consists mainly of transport infrastructure and green space, with no residential development. It functions less as a destination than as a historical waypoint on one of the ancient world's most-traveled roads.
