Azergues

The Azergues is a roughly 62-kilometer tributary of the Saône in the Rhône département, rising in the hills of the Beaujolais wine region and joining the Saône near the village of Anse. Its valley winds through the gentle slopes of northern Beaujolais, passing vineyards and quiet rural villages along the way. The riverbanks offer walking and cycling routes that see relatively little tourist traffic, and the river is locally known among anglers for its trout.
