Ammertalbahn

The Ammertalbahn is a 21-kilometre regional railway line that has connected Tübingen with Herrenberg via the Ammertal valley since 1909. Opened during the Wilhelmine era, the route threads through a sequence of small Baden-Württemberg communities and is classified as a protected cultural monument, reflecting how closely rural branch lines shaped local settlement patterns.
