Amphiareion of Oropos

At the sanctuary of the healer-seer Amphiaraus, ancient pilgrims sought healing and answers through ritual sleep. The secluded setting between Attica and Boeotia made the Amphiareion one of the most important oracle and healing sites in the Greek world - with theatre and stadium for the associated games.
